Mental Health Awareness – Our thanks go to Peter Scutts, a member of the DGP team for being so open, volunteering his time and talking about mental health to the Mace, One Thames City site, in Vauxhall, last Friday. He gave a frank and personal insight into his nine-year struggle with his Stepson’s mental health. The talk included his experience navigating the Mental Health system, the signs to look out for and the devastating aftermath of suicide.

Mace Construction Lead & Associate Director, Richard ( Dicky) Swallow, said, the talk was: “very, very moving and powerful, thank you.”

Mace Senior Health and Safety Manager, Sam Miller CMIOSH MCIOB said, “A raw and thought-provoking session on the challenges of mental health in young people and its effect on family, friends and loved ones.”

Peter reminded everyone that we can all make a difference to someone’s life and if we’re going to get on top of mental health, then we all need to play our part.

We can all choose to make a difference by making lives more liveable for those who struggle to cope.
