A big welcome to our new Operations Manager, Martin Allum. Martin has 23 years’ experience in the construction industry working on a number of high profile projects in the UK, as well as aviation and nuclear. We look forward to working with Martin as part of the DGP Logistics team.

Celebrating Excellence – Sam Yell, Associate Director at Mace has congratulated the DGP Logistics team at Lancer Square for winning yet another award, the Team Safety and Service Excellence Award, for the month of September.

Well done to Christopher Hitches, his team and all involved supporting them behind the scenes.

Six teams from all departments recently took up the Step Challenge in a friendly competition in a bid to improve their health and fitness.

Using a wrist monitor device or mobile phone, all competitors measured the number of steps they amassed over a period of one month. The combined total of steps for all competing teams was an amazing 597,613, the equivalent of 272 miles, or to put it into perspective, the same distance from our head office to Paris!

Congratulations to the winners, the Swashbuckle team, consisting of (left to right) Louise Down, Shaun Welch, Samantha Bates, Mick Doyle and Kelly Buckle. Each member of the winning team received a High Street voucher.

A big thank you to everyone who participated in the challenge.

In true Viking style, we say a fond farewell to Lee Goodrum. Lee has finally decided it’s time to hang up his boots, retire and spend more time with his family.

Lee’s barbecue retirement party was a real family affair. Lee was joined by his wife Nicky, son Harry, (who also works at DGP), together with three generations of the Dhesi family and members of the head office team.

Lee was our Storeman and carried out many of our deliveries. We wish him well in his retirement.

Celebrating Excellence – Congratulations to Brynley Ferris for winning the Health & Safety award for September at the Woolwich Creative District project.

Brynley is seen here receiving his award and M&S voucher from Steve Hawthorne, Project Director at Mace Group.

A fun-filled Friday lunchtime was had by all, fundraising for ‘Breast Cancer Now’, taking part in their Big Pink Quiz. Our six competing teams were: Panthers, Magenta Monkeys; Candy Floss; Pink Panthers; Pinky and the Brain and Gulab Jamuns (a prize for anyone who can translate that one!).

The results are finally in and the winning team was Panthers, made up of Mat Piears and Ian Gardner, seen here being presented with a box of Cadbury Heroes by Managing Director, Saheb Dhesi.

Guess the number of Flamingos was won by Samantha Bates and guess the number of puppies was won by Peter Scutts. Spot `Duke’ our puppy, sporting a pink bow!

Further money was raised through our pink cake offering. In total, £65 was raised and kindly doubled by Saheb Dhesi, making a grand total of £130 to donate to Breast Cancer Now. Well done to everyone who took part and entered into the spirit of the fundraising event. A special thank you to our organiser and quizmaster Sharleen Houston.

Also, a great turn out from Gurbachan Singh, sporting a pink turban in support of the campaign.

Celebrating Excellence – Congratulations to DGP’s Paul Samu for winning supervisor of the month for September, at Mace Greenwich Square monthly safety awards. This is one of a number of safety awards DGP have received recently and demonstrates our continuing commitment to safety on all sites.

Paul is seen here receiving his award and Amazon voucher from Paul Oates, Senior Construction Manager at Greenwich Square.

Last week saw the topping out ceremony on the Mace, Lancer Square Project. It has been a privilege to be part of this project.”

DGP is providing a full logistics package including: Traffic Management; Welfare Operatives; Waste Management; Hoists; Security; General Operatives; Temporary works Including Handymen, as well as full temporary Welfare accommodation.

Sam Yell, Construction Lead at Mace commented, “Albeit traditionally the topping is about our super structure contractor, what gets missed is the Hard work and dedication of our Logistic Contractor and support teams, DGP have provided a fantastic service here at our Lancer Square Project right from the very beginning so we must thank them, also not forgetting Christopher Hitches.
